murmurs and shrapnel i

Buying time
amidst the ruins of history
taking shrapnel
recycled plate nickel
rubbings of ancient origin
rusted and faded antiques
spare parts
wires and computer fragments
spices fallen out of dreams
and mixing in a little
piss and blood
then assembling the pieces
into an attempt
at form
at bringing it all together
into a thread
a thin thread
that leads out of mind
and into freedom.
