murmurs and shrapnel ii

A pale white oval face
a high priestess
with restless passions
hidden serenely
behind large glowing eyes
that haven’t slept in years
soft gentle lips
and thin wispy hair that melts
into a halo of soft feathers
from which doves fly out
and meet to kiss.

Another woman
this one with a long narrow face
long hair that flows behind like a river
she has eyes that have died
and now stare out frantically
yet despite all this
thick sensual lips that attract
she holds a bundle under her arms
a sad bundle
she clings to it and won’t let go
as she flees helter skelter into the night
with a long finger
she pleas for your silence.

A lightening runner
streaking across my dream
playing an electric guider
that bleeds shimmering energy
into a phantasmal world beyond.

A tangled mass of
strong muscular sexless bodies
bald and dark with jutting chins
and mouths that hang open
lolling tongues that can’t be human
vague undifferentiated eyes
with laser points that glow green
tattooed skin on stringy muscular arms
doubled jointed
a menagerie of lost circus freaks
or
trolls escaping
from someone’s nightmare.

Christ crucified
on a paper dollar bill
he holds fast
under the bar code
suffering for your sins
so how much will you pay
how much paper will you dole out
to buy off your sins?

Well said Matt… I used ignore the dark side of the world… I get stronger when I face the dark side too… and learn more about myself… it’s interesting that poetry opens that door… thanks for your very good writing…
