to come after

The phone rang at one thirty
in the morning
and it was a man
from Malebolge
he said
stop singing
your hurting my ears

I told him I would try
but I would fail
that’s it’s just one of those things
you know
he hung up on me
and I haven’t heard from him
since.

    Oh, I like it!

    Clever, and kind of funny.

“I told him I would try
    but I would fail”

    Good stuff.

This is wonderful. Simple but amazing. It speaks to the musician in me and the poet too. I think it’s very successful. My favourite of your poems so far – though, I’ve not yet read many.

  3. Matt says:

    Thank you both!
