a sulky look
An inhibited idea
held back by nature
and by degree
pushes forth at night
as pinkish slices of grapefruit
and probing kisses.
The absurdity of my dreams
is as complete as
the potency of thier feeling tone
sliding lips across my cheek
but whose?
The vacuum of associations
during the day
is a deliberate refusal to leave
until at night
when my eyes have shut
the surge of passion
and unanswered sexual urgency
yield the suggested effect
the capacious behavior of images
coming out to play
as the rain begins to slacken.
The notorious strangeness of dreams
my feelings for you
emotional stupidity
or
a form of inspiration
cradle me in your arms
sing to me
whisper.
Uncontrollable elements
yield extraneous events
leading to an autonomous complex
from perfect clarity
to deepest confusion
clamoring life is all around
I’m drowning in your arms
the look in your face
as you look down
a sulky look.

poem: how i see in you
It is to be deplored
what they said of you
so little is ever really known
and they judged you too lightly
all their research was misdirected
no one bothered even once
to look into your eyes
how profoundly ignorant
what a terrible waste
mythology and poetry
alive in you
a breathing soul, a lyric gem
come here and hold me
let them strain to render into words
the impossible struggles of a human heart
your heart
they’ll fail to capture
the fresh breezes
the craggy mountains
the deep waters
but here with you
i’ll take them in
you offer them to me
small tokens of your love
sincere and mighty
i see that much in you
that much
and more.

poem: plea to hathor
Magnificent cow goddess
creating and rearing all things
whether they be great or small
you are perpetually conceiving
you are the mother of my father
you are be daughter of my son
you are mother of every god
your milk flows among the stars
it nourishes the gods
you are
the lady of heaven
the lady of earth
the lady of hell
for all abodes make a place for you
i know that as the eye of Ra
nothing escapes your notice
not only are you a friend of pregnant woman
and a sympathetic midwife
but an ally of lovers and beautiful women
so I call upon you
please help me
the one i wish to reach
is now beyond my grasp
to a place where only you can go
so find my lost love
and breath a little life upon her soul
tell her that i loved her
and yet still love her
tell her i have forgotten nothing
and one day soon
when the stars allow it
i will join her
and we will be together
once again.

insulated in our pleasure
Eyes locked on you
as you make a steep descent
no longer the main culprit in my life
i’ve learned to forgive you
you pull on my heart strings
play me like a harp
a slow drag, pleasure
the damage was spread long ago
it hurt then, but not now
more of an impact
is your immediate presence
here now
a full fledged, synchronous dance
a global wonder
you lead me in my decline
we’ll descend together
insulated in our pleasure.

the tenets of our faith
You sprinkle me with extreme views
i call it a want of information
what i need to know is your true character
i’ll assure you it’s not in any religious text
you grope laboriously but never reach me
always distant never there
quite correct in saying
god gave me a soul
and i must find it
you exist for death
i for life
we will enjoy our relative rewards entirely
and
as differently as
the tenets of our faith.

poem: a pink flux
Deductive disciplines
lead me nowhere
spatial entities
float about me
calling me by name
but i cannot hear them
a form suitable for adults
a fading form of your image
disappearing
as if you were never there
unsuitable
ambiguous and inexact terms
are all that come to mind
i’m in a fug
a pink flux
a blue funk
you try to reason me
out of it
but naturally your subject matter
is a heavy weight
that sinks me farther in
i am confined in
the inevitable consequences
of lives past
and now
gone.

poem: iridium rush
A thin layer of clay
separates you from me
time transition
we’re running on different clocks
you always a few seconds ahead of me
i’ll touch you in the right place
but only 3 second too late
abnormally enriched
rare and metallic
hot and smooth
your skin thrills me
i feel the current
speed up in me
you touching me
pulverize me
shatter me into a thousand pieces
scatter me across the earth
some day
a million years from now
they’ll find my particles
and wonder at the energy
an iridium rush
they’ll say it was a ufo
an asteroid, a sexual disturbance
little will they know
panic and fascination
but no imagination
smother the smoke
shatter the mirrors
at your call I’ll come back together
reassembled
emerging from the debris
to proclaim your name
the victory of your love for me.

poem: drunk
differences in perspective
melt away
after a cup or two of saké
different spiritual traditions
blending into one
as we dine
with rice wine
eclecticism unnecessary
we’re already the same
a serious commitment, you say
just pass the wine
i’ll give it
enlightenment and libation
go hand in hand
do they not
resolving this dilemma
is rooted in draining the cup
and pouring one more
reflect carefully
on the funny way the walls
now move for both of us
all problems ultimately
solved as a dreamy haze engulfs us
a way to end all suffering
qualifying words are important
swim, sink, bathe together
bring our suffering to an
irreversible stop
just one more cup please
it’s so nice to have you
here with me
cheers.

poem: sharksucker
Too much remorse over enchiladas unneeded
i blame it on you
you attach to several types of people
this includes pisces, virgo and cancer
you move about looking for feeding opportunities
wary of predators, you latch onto to unsuspecting backs
the association between they and you
is particularly grotesque but
you are as you are
i have documented your associations
so as to note every possible disadvantage
i am on to you, i’ve not just analyzed
reliable photographs and videos
i’ve made field observations
you says it’s mutual benefit,
but i know that you’re a leech
do you remember
mexico? that time you couldn’t be found
i knew all along where you were
i even recorded the positions,
and you didn’t even know it was me
did you?
total length, standard length
i’ll put a number tag on you
then they’ll all know
just what your like
without having to find out for themselves
lethal length
lethality
i’ve calculated
the number of times
the number of victims
the number left to you
you says its symbiosis
yeah right and i’m the king of france
you’re a sharksucker feeding on particles,
foraging for hosts, not choosy,
you’ll pick sponges, turtles
and liposuction victims, hawksbills
i’m going to swim free of you
into deep ocean waters
the unexpected will throw you off my trail,
and when you’re not ready
i’ll be there, hiding out among the reefer
and i’ll come back at you
sharp teeth mauling and
then i’ll eat you complete
sayonara.

poetry: the fool
Theoretical injunctions
reflections of a social reality
epic
you’re inclusive by your nature
actual reality is an intrusion
you read the narrative
you make it your reality
what goes on outside
unimportant
what am I to you
a character in a play,
a moral dilemma?
I’ve flesh and blood, you know
but what’s that to you
moral and ethical issues must be debated
that’s all that holds your interest
legends of women
ambiguities
a woman’s free choice
what about that?
bandage my eyes
blind me with pretended injustice
then will you love me?
male interests
male superiority
narratives contrary to surface meaning
I love thee
I love thee not
let me be the example
a lesser epic
a lesser heroine
for I love you
and I am the fool.
