Just a few poems from around the web –
Tears in a Vineyard at Quiet Commotion. This poem is so subtle. The images are palpable, I feel like I’m there. Then there is this melancholic, nostalgic hard to catch feeling that is not only caught, but reaches just right culmination at the end of the poem. Very fine writing.
The Pixie at Verse Escape. This is a very deftly written poem. The poem maneuvers between reality in fantasy in a manner that makes them virtually inseparable. Exceptionally beautiful images, all flowing into a narrative with just the right amount of ambiguity. Haunting.
Shelved at synch-ro-ni-zing. Ruth says, “I began this poem by cataloging things that are set away for another time … Then the poem slipped into fiction.” I guess it’s all fiction in a manner of speaking. This is a really lovely poem, one wonderful image colliding into another in apparent pellmell but with a meaningful impact that becomes clear in the last lines. Fantastic.
Life at Average Poet. A slice of life, carefully crafted into four stanza – complete with lines that rhyme. A summer time poem that for me brought back a lot of memories. Nicely done.
Puddles at Whispers in the Wind. About wind and rain and nature … we appreciate beauty most when it’s gone. Such beautiful images, and with just the right twist at the end.
I hope to share some more soon …

Thanks for including me with these accomplished poets, Matt. I look forward to reading the ones I haven’t yet found.
hedgewitch, I love your poetry. It goes without saying when we write, we’re expressing ourselves – but I think your poetry goes beyond this. You deal with both dark and mythological themes, and your choice of words often leaves my jaw falling onto the ground – I very much love your blog!
These are great poems!
Thank you, Gina! I agree, they are great poems!
